چکیده

Strain and thermal sensitivities of germanate and tellurite glass fibres were measured using a fibre Fabry-Perot (FFP) interferometer and fibre Bragg gratings (FBG). The strain phase sensitivity for germanate and tellurite fibre were 5900×10 rad/m and 5600×10 rad/m respectively at a central wavelength of 1540nm using FFP interferometer, which is consistent with the value of 1.22pm/με obtained for a germanate fibre FBG. The Young’s modulus for germanate and tellurite fibre were also measured to be 58GPa and 37GPa. The thermal responses of germanate fibre were examined as 24.71 and 16.80 pm/°C at 1540nm and 1033nm wavelength using the FBG.

The effect of La2O3 in Tm3+-doped germanate-tellurite glasses for ~2 μm emission

A germanate-tellurite glass (GeO2-TeO₂-K₂O-Nb₂O₅-La₂O₃) with thulium doping has been investigated for application as a laser material around 2.0 μm regions. Under the 808 nm laser diode pumped, intense 1.8 μm emission is obtained. Based on the absorption spectra, radiative properties are predicted using Judd-Ofelt theory. The maximum value of emission cross-section of Tm(3+) around 1.8 μm can r...

Frequency upconversion emissions in layered lead–germanate–tellurite glasses for three-color display

This letter is aiming to develop a full-color glass for the three-dimensional and three-color display. The Yb/Tm/Er codoped lead–germanate–tellurite bulk glass has been fabricated and the upconversion emissions have been investigated. The reduced blue and green emission intensity suggests that it is difficult to achieve three-color display in the multiple-rare-earth ions doped glass. Then a two...

Enhanced Optical Properties of Germanate and Tellurite Glasses Containing Metal or Semiconductor Nanoparticles

Germanium- and tellurium-based glasses have been largely studied due to their recognized potential for photonics. In this paper, we review our recent studies that include the investigation of the Stokes and anti-Stokes photoluminescence (PL) in different glass systems containing metallic and semiconductor nanoparticles (NPs). In the case of the samples with metallic NPs, the enhanced PL was att...

Luminescence Enhancement in Eu(III)-Doped Tellurite Glass Embedded Silver Nanoparticles

Introduction of the metallic nanoparticles (NPs) in the bulk glass received a large interest due to their versatile applications. The effect of silver NPs on optical properties of the Eu3+-doped zinc tellurite glasses is presented for the first time. Glass samples are prepared by melt-quenching technique. The surface plasmon absorption bands of silver NPs are recorded in the visible ...

Fiber Bragg gratings inscribed using 800nm femtosecond laser and a phase mask in single- and multi-core mid-IR glass fibers.

For the first time, Fiber Bragg grating (FBG) structures have been inscribed in single-core passive germanate and three-core passive and active tellurite glass fibers using 800 nm femtosecond (fs) laser and phase mask technique. With fs peak power intensity in the order of 10(11)W/cm(2), the FBG spectra with 2nd and 3rd order resonances at 1540 and 1033 nm in the germanate glass fiber and 2nd o...
